News is now breaking that the Kenwith Valley Lakes are to be re-located to the former landfill site at Northam Burrows. Chris T. Peters, spokesman for West-the-Water Angling club says “I am delighted that the anglers of Bideford will now have a new home. The problem in recent years has been the large influx of twitchers bringing with them an increasing number birds infesting the valley which has caused such a nuisance to the anglers enjoying their legitimate past-time.” When the lakes have been dug up and transported to Northam Burrows construction work can commence on the much needed affordable holiday homes planned by Porridge District Council. Chris T. Peters went on to say “I am looking forward to seeing the grockles coming down here from the big cities. It will be like a breath fresh air. I welcome this injection of new blood into the area. It is what this district needs. They will bring new ideas and we will have to provide more supermarkets to cope with the increased demand for foodstuffs. This can only be good news.”
